While Homersfield Lake is best known for its carp and roach, it also produces impressive specimens of other species. The lake has been home to large Wels catfish, with the official record caught here in 1993 at 49lbs 12oz. Unfortunately, due to illegal imports, no catfish have been recorded since that time.
Over the years, anglers have also landed tench over 13lbs and bream over 15lbs, making Homersfield a true all-round specimen lake.
The lake has been described as “the Jurassic Park of fishing” because everything grows exceptionally large. Its 35 acres of spring-fed water create a bio-diverse environment, providing an abundance of natural food and ideal conditions for fish to thrive.
“In my opinion Homersfield Lake from an all rounder point of view has to be one of the best lakes in the country, I doubt there is another lake in the country that has such an impressive stock.”
